Manager
Typical Accountabilities:
• Project manages the introduction of new packages and components from the identification of business need, through to the timely introduction and formal acceptance of the change by all customers
• Translates business proposals into costed options for package design, balancing various influencing factors, such as commercial and quality requirements, suppliers' capabilities, manufacturability, storage/distribution needs and regulatory compliance
• Ensures that work within function is performed in accordance with Safety, Health and Environment requirements
• Participates actively in the Leadership Team, sharing ownership and accountability for the area objectives
• Leads own section and individuals within it to deliver the highest levels of performance, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and agreed fiscal standards
• Identifies and leads improvement initiatives and project teams in support of longer term (3 –5 years) business strategy
• Develops and cultivates technical expertise and knowledge for maximum business benefit
• Develops, implements and reports against key performance indicators which define the performance of own section
• Identifies and gains business support from the designated business team for recommended options
Typical People Management Responsibility (direct / indirect reports):
• Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) - 3-10
• Manager of a team
What is the global remit? (how many countries will the role operate in?):
• 4 or more countries at a minimum of 40% of time
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Essential: Degree level education in science or engineering; Knowledge of procurement, supply and manufacturing; Sound understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice, Safety, Health and Environment and Standard Operating Procedures; Project management, change management and people management skills; Good working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
• Desirable: Extensive experience in line management, technical support and project management; Pharmaceutical experience

• Internal (to AZ or team): Members of other functions and disciplines within AstraZeneca; Senior managers across a range of functional areas
• External (to AZ): Suppliers and contractors; External regulatory agencies
